A project located in Auckland and undertaken for Black Diamond Technologies, Egmont Dixon led the comprehensive refurbishment of an existing two-story office building, enhancing the building envelope, structural integrity and aesthetic appeal.
A key focus in this project was assessing and upgrading the roof, façade, and underlying structures to address existing issues—such as leaks and wear—and to mitigate future maintenance concerns. Beyond the structural & envelope improvements, the renovation aimed to transform the office into a modern, inviting, and collaborative space that accurately reflects the company’s identity, values, and professionalism—while also serving as a showcase for their state-of-the-art HVAC products.
One of the primary challenges was the uncertainty surrounding structural damage, as the full extent of deterioration became evident only after dismantling the façade and roof. Egmont Dixon played a crucial role in managing this uncertainty through careful planning, contingency allowances, and a flexible approach to problem-solving, ensuring any unexpected issues were effectively addressed during construction.
The project's success was driven by a skilled and collaborative team whose expertise and proactive problem-solving ensured seamless execution. Their efficiency and commitment to excellence resulted in a high-quality, revitalised workspace.
