BNZ THE

TERRACE

Client: Bank of New Zealand

Services: Project Management

Value: $12M

Completion: 2019

Our continued programme of works with BNZ, post the 2016 Kaikoura earthquake saw 96 The Terrace, upgraded to a leading office space for BNZ’s technology, digital, products and portfolio teams. Front of mind through the design was technology, digital and collaboration. So much so, that BNZ elected to forgo the basement carparks to provide a creative breakout space called ‘The Garage’, inclusive of digital walls, pool table, end-of-trip facilities, social spaces and one-of-a-kind graffiti art from local artist Sparrow Phillips.

Egmont Dixon was engaged again as the client-side project manager and lead consultant for the fitout project, overseeing integration with the extensive base build seismic upgrade. This included stakeholder engagement across the BNZ business, extensive IT, digital and infrastructure design, and development accompanied with traditional fit-out works.

Over 9,000 square metres, the overall project showcased more firsts for BNZ; Creative Studio’s, Digital Hubs, The Retreat (for napping) and adjustable partitions in working floors. The design of this fitout positioned BNZ as a market leader in the technology space and provided a perfect testing ground for the final destination for BNZ Wellington – the iconic BNZ Place, which redefined Wellington’s waterfront.
