The High Street Quarter project, known as HSQ delivered a mixed use development in Central Lower Hutt, providing 29 terraced units in the CBD. A project that was so popular, a record-breaking 99% of units were sold on day one of the sales campaign. Positioned between High and Dudley Streets, the development included a new pedestrian walkway, providing access through the city blocks.
The low rise, terrace house properties were new for Lower Hutt’s CBD and offered the opportunity for purchasers to live in a conventional terrace house within the city, an attractive alternative to apartment living.
The team at Egmont Dixon provided Development and Project Management as well as Resource Planning from initial feasibility through to handing over the keys to the purchasers. The sites location required ongoing engagement with local authorities to ensure that the street frontages were activated within the retail zone of High Street. This saw the High Street terraces developed to include ground floor commercial space, with residential above.
HSQ has redefined residential living within the CBD and is now surrounded with further residences, amplifying the demand for inner city living. We enjoy our projects which have a significant impact on the surrounding area and assist in growing neighbourhoods, this project achieved both.
